Kate Hinds

I am a researcher at UCL in London. I have a PhD in sociology and my thesis looked at philanthropy and its contribution to social change. I have worked for philanthropic foundations and the voluntary sector. I work as an evidence reviewer but I have become interested in ideas about evidence and the philosophy underpinning it. I am a critical realist and this blog will help me make sense of such terms as evidence-based policy; objectivity; and truth – and how researchers make claims and whether we should take any notice of them.
